We HAVE "Classic" High Strangeness Cases in the UK -Ufologists Just Ignore Them

If I had to look at how badly Ufology in the UK treats CE3K cases then, excluding the books by British "New Ufologists" who have really contributed nothing in almost 40 years, then there are reports such as:
the 1954 Jessie Roestenberg case which is the earliest recorded and credible observation and thanks to John Hanson and the Haunted Skies project we at least have more than was originally knopwn AND we have video footage of Mrs Roestenberg -which should be getting used in UFO documentaries.

Hanson also interviewed the observers of the entity from Bradford, 1955?
There are a good few other reports that were basic book filler then dump the percipients. The Shamrock Cafe (1983) case -another that is basically ignored.
New Ufology decided from the outset that the whole business was to debunk but appear scientific and make various claims for why accounts were not real but psychological. We see cases where other percipients are ignored while one who has a history of possible "waking dreams" is concentrated on as that proves it was not real (yeah, those other percipients did not want to undergo hypnosis out of fear of what it might reveal so stuff them, right?).
The July, 1994 Silbury Hill CE3K has a numkber of elements that would see it tagged as High Strangeness yet what happened to Paul, Sonya and Rob that morning has only been covered to an extent in Andrew Collins' book Light Quest (2012).

Elsie Oakensen (c)2022 John Hanson/Haunted Skies

The 1978 Elsie Oakensen encounter which, although there was only one percipient there was independent back up of UFOs at the same time. Hanson has interviewed Oakensen and it is interesting that, again, the only thing Ufologists could come up with was that it was "a hoax" even though they can produce no evidence of this.
We have High Strangeness cases in the UK that are mainly unknown to people in Ufology in the UK let alone outside of it. This is why these cases have to be recorded and John Hanson has done a great deal to achieve this.
Perhaps it needs an independent documentary company to do a series of short films?

The (ever growing) Hooper Archives

In 50 years you gather a lot of books and files. Regular readers  will be familiar with the above CE3l/AE files (there are other CE3K files below that bottom row!).  Today, rather than goin g back and forth from my room to the "book room" (far too many books) I decided to put up plastic shelving and arrange all the CE3K/AE dedicated books or books with CE3K reports in them,

Here is a side shot.

Top shelf

below: closer look for the nosies!

Below the shelf with the heavy stuff -note the Haunted Skies volumes which I highly recommend
Below the more intense reading
Below the more classic books on the subject

Below the books are the 150 plus files on various phenomena from lake and sea monsters. mystery hominids, The Great New England Darkness, Project Twinkle, Red Spray Events, Thunder Axes, Angel Hair, Falls of Gelatinous substances, alleged UFO crashes, UCOs (Unidentified Crashed Objects), the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and UFOs, Attempted communications with UFOs, Animal Disturbance cases, Military intercept attempts and a whole bunch more

Whoever gets this lot when I pop my clogs has to take the lot as a job lot and guarantee that researchers, if ever interested, will get free access to it all.

They will also need a van to move the lot as my ghost and paranormal as well as cryptozoological books are also thrown in!

July 1965 Milnthorpe Cumbria

source  David Sankey, a BUFORA investigator.

In July 1965, late at night couple and their baby son were making an overnight journey when they pulled over for a cigarette break at a rest area near Milnthorpe, Cumbria.

It was during this break in their journey that the couple noticed behind a nearby dry-stone wall, an intense red light which appeared lens or domed shaped. Within this light were seen three small creatures which seemed to be giving off a slight green luminescence. The entities were described as having large, round staring eyes and a long nose that looked like a "small elephant trunk" with a mouth that appeared as just a slit. Their heads were large and almost a turnip shape and their bodies were round with hands with digits that were not seen clearly. No definite muscle tone or bone structure was seen, and they did not appear to be wearing any clothing.  Two of the three entities had their arms held out in front of them as though gesturing.

The entities appeared to be some 15 feet from the car and in front of the wall when the object's brilliance was noticed.  It was reported that the couple became frightened and drove off without seeing the entities depart. They later felt silly for reacting in a frightened manner as they had gotten the impression that the entities had meant no harm.

That, sadly, is it. There was no accompanying illustration of the entities that had been shown to the witnesses and approved and none of the object seen. We do not even know where they stopped; Milnthorpe is a village in hilly country and there is the B5282 road and A5 running around it. If this had happened in France during 1965 it would probably have led to a lengthy report

High Strangeness: The Natal 'Flying Spectre'

At times it can be frustrating in the extreme when looking at old reports where someone did go and talk to witnesses but all that we are left with is a story but lacking the details we need –or want. Is 1972 just too far back to hope that some of the witnesses might still be alive and investigators could track them down?

When it comes to this case I cannot find anything online about it. I even checked in all of my old books and even my article from 1978 on African CE3K reports does not list it. To be fair, however, if I do not know about it why do I think someone else should?  An account was published in Flying Saucer Review (Philipp J. Human, “The ‘Flying Spectre’ of Natal”, vol.18, no. 6, 1972).

The events took place in August 1972 and details were published in The Natal Mercury on 22nd August, 1972.

Mrs. Doris Muthwa was accompanied by her 12 year old daughter as she went to draw water from a river near to her Roosboom (NW of Colenso) home. The time was around 04:30 hrs.  As Doris was going about here chore:

“I looked up and there seemed to be a man in a white suit. I thought he

was smoking a cigarette but then the smoke became like a big fire. There was

a bright light shining from his chest which went pink and blue.”

According to Mrs. N. E. Harding, Doris’ employer:

“Doris said he was about 3.5 metres tall. She indicated his height to me

against a tree. He must have been emitting some kind of electricity because

she said it was just like when she touches the iron and her body goes all jerky.

The giant man then shot into the sky and disappeared.  The two were so

frightened that the mother cried out, while the daughter began to cry and bit

her mother’s hand in her  terror.  They ran away, falling over and spilling their

water as they went. Doris is a bright, intelligent woman. I know she is telling the

      truth.”

According to Philipp Human the height of the ‘man’ based on the tree would be around 11 ft. 3 ins. To 11 ft. 6 ins.  The daughter had bitten her mother’s hand when the ‘man’ “began to give off white lights” and as for Doris; she refused to go back to the stream.

The electrical effect that Doris felt is worthy of note and I hope she replaced her clothes iron if she was getting the same from it. A mother and daughter –a joke being played on them (if we ignore the electrical effect)? Could be, however, that convenient explanation can be dismissed because others saw the “flying spectre”.

In a follow-up report (The Natal Mercury, 23rd August, 1972) it was noted that a Elias Khosa, working at a trading store, was walking home on Wednesday 16th August when he encountered the entity.  According to Elias, the entity “faced him, but he could not see its head, although he noticed small flames burning around its feet.” Elias stated that he invited the “visitor” home for a drink but it simply turned and sped off through the veldt at “high speed” and emitted flames and smoke as it did so. One wonders what might have happened had the entity responded “Okay” to Elias’ invitation?

One the night of Saturday, 19th August, 1972, the entity was seen on wasteland behind the Molver Road home of Mrs. Thelma Hansen and it was the sight of its head that most disturbed Mrs. Hansen; “There was fire coming out of its eyes, and the head was square like a machine.”

It was Miss Jane Chassen who was with Mrs. Hansen’s 8 year old daughter, Ingrid, who had seen it first; “It was staring at us by the fence. It was horrible. It was not a real person.” When Dr. Carl van Vlierden spoke to Mrs. Hansen after the fuss had died down he found that she was still disturbed by the encounter having had headaches, pains in the legs etc. and revealed that she had felt “some sort of hypnotic effect” –as if being drawn toward the entity. Dr. van Vlierden spoke to three other witnesses who all claimed these side effects.

It was the “eyes” that seemed to have the greatest effect on those who encountered the entity and van Vlierden learnt that the entity was at least 7 feet above the ground.  When it departed, the entity “went straight up, then sideways, and disappeared.”

The 19th of August saw the entity sighted three times and he gave each of the witnesses “pencil and paper, and asked them to draw what they saw. The drawings were all very similar.”

At the time of these encounters there was a “mini UFO flap” going on in South Africa and although no object was seen in conjunction with this ‘flying spectre’ how else can it be explained?  Was it, perhaps, a practical joker? Well, if it was there appears to have been no “I did it! I fooled you all!” afterwards and people who do this type of thing like to get the attention from their confession –even if decades later or someone they know will spill the beans but after a very long period of searching I can find nothing.

In 2020 we could say that it was a hoax with some practical joker using a drone and, yes, it is possible as I think I’ve worked out how the visual side of things could be achieved.  However, this was 1972 and there was a definite lack of technology available for someone to achieve all of this.  We then have to explain away the electrical effect felt by Doris or the physiological/psychological symptoms reported by the unconnected witnesses.

We have these very basic details from FSR but have no idea if they saw copies of the drawings or just how detailed the report was because the one thing missing are the detailed witness statements. There is no narrative such as “It was staring at us from the fence and I called Mrs. Hansen and we watch as it stared before flying off” –basic but taking us from “A” to “B” and the same applies with Elias’ account because he obviously did not feel threatened but what was he thinking or feeling? We just do not know.

There is no type of map showing encounter locations, the geography involved or guide to how far apart the sightings were –at least none were published.  The “flames” could have been lights emanating what looked like flames but speculation based on what we have here is pointless.

Despite wanting to give the outward appearance of a respectable journal, Flying Saucer Review loved the more sensationalist reports because those were what brought in the readers.  Did van Vlierden write up a proper report and does anyone have a copy –the FSR archive at the AFU in Sweden is crammed with papers so searching could take months.

Perhaps, in South Africa, some Ufologist has the van Vlierden report?

August 1988, Germigny l'Evêque (Seine and Marne)

Alerted by an article by Parisien Libéré (October 11, 1989 edition), Jean Sider and a Lumières Dans La Nuit investigator went on site to get more information on what the press had called "The Midnight Giant".

The witnesses, whose anonymity we wish to respect, have kindly shared their experience, despite some initial reluctance, and the following facts have been established: at the end of August 1988, a Saturday (probably the 27th), Mr. and Mrs. S. drive to Germigny l'Evêque, thinking to attend the annual festival of this village.

Around midnight, when they parked on the field that usually serves as parking, and they find the absence of any other vehicle, they decide to go home, understanding that the party was to take place on another date. After having taken for a few tens of meters the small road known as "the path of the bottom of the river", they reach the D97 and, either when turning to the right to take this departmental, or after having crossed it during a few meters a sudden light draws their attention to their left, in a gently undulating field, a white light, in a circular arc, well rounded according to the terms of Mr. S., illuminates the back with a stocky and dark silhouette.

This light slightly illuminates the surrounding woods but leaves the witnesses in complete darkness, Mr. and Mrs. S. disagree on how much time they had spent observing the phenomenon, in any case, after 30 or 45 seconds, according to Mr. S or, after a few minutes, according to Mrs. S, they return to their home.

the following days Mrs. S. tried to find a prosaic explanation for her observation and checked on the spot and at night, that the lights of a hotel are blush in the wood, could not have been the cause of their vision. This check will show him the inadequacy of this explanation. LDLN will discuss this observation in more detail, as well as a number of cases that have recently appeared in this region.

The phenomenon was observed between the two signposts, at the bottom of the field, in front of the edge of the wood. The lower part of the silhouette was indistinct. The sketch was made by the witnesses themselves.

The Riegelsville Encounter

At approximately 0100hrs on the morning of the 15th of June 2012 in Pennsylvania, United States of America, the witness was driving a back road when they came across a curve in the road, upon approaching the curve in the road the witness saw what they thought was a deer on the right side of the road about to run across in front of the car.

The witness braked to stop from hitting the animal and the deer ran out into the road and off into the verge on the left side of the road.

Following this the witness encountered something else, this time it wasn't a deer. The witness goes on to describe what they saw, "I immediately saw the glowing Kashmir blue light brightly emanating from the mask/helmet/face of a tall man standing on the left side of the road. He must have stood seven feet tall or more.".

Next the witness watched the deer run up to the 'man' and the animal acted like a dog would with it's master, "In the next second, my headlights fell directly on the pair. I had slowed down to a speed of about 15 to 20 mph to avoid the collision and had a clear, direct view. This next second lasted an hour in my mind. The creature was similar to a deer in size and overall shape. It had a dark brown/grey covering that I want to call fur but was more likely leathery. It had the head similar to a dog with an elongated snout and short ears. It had the build of a greyhound with long legs supporting a smaller, slender frame. The legs were strange. They may have bent backwards but I cannot be sure. I recall that it moved strangely as it crossed the road. It had no visible tail.".

The witness noted that the tall being had a human build wearing a black suit and had many pockets, there was no flesh visible on the 'human'. The witness reports, "The visor was rectangular with rounded edges and was positioned to be consistent with human anatomy. The light obscured the shape of the head somewhat, but again, it seemed to have a head consistent with human anatomy from a straightforward perspective".

As the witness drove past they believe they made eye contact even though the witness couldn't see the tall beings eyes and as the witness drove away they could see in the rear view mirror of the car the being watch the car drive away.

After making it a bit down the road and out of sight of whatever the witness had encountered they stated, "At this point a very unsettling thing occurred. I felt him call to me. It was like a feeling more than words. It wanted me to come back. It was a strong urge to turn around mixed with feelings of peace and tranquility. Suddenly I realized that I had unconsciously brought the car to a stop. This frightened me to my core. It still does. I immediately floored the car and blew the stop sign at the end of the road as i raced to home and safety".

In the years following this encounter the witness would have a few other odd or unexplained experiences that didn't add up to anything until the witnesses girlfriend came into the picture.

In around 2016 the witness and his girlfriend lived ina rural location, one night out on the porch they noticed a light, "One winter night we noticed a very bright flash of white light coming from the back woods behind the house. It was so bright it could have been lighting. but there was no clouds in the sky. We went to the back yard to investigate, becoming suspicious of a possible intruder taking pictures in out woods. The flashing continued intermittently but with no discernible pattern. I then realized that the light was actually off the ground at least ten feet. This made use uncomfortable and we went inside".

Following this experience with the light in the woods, similar episodes occurred night after night in the woods so the witness and their girlfriend decided to try and find the source of the light one night.

"I tried to flash it and find it with the spotlight but had no luck. It simply flashed as it pleased woth no reaction to us. Then we heard a familiar sound. It sounded as though a 747 was going overhead. I expected to see a low flying airliner pass overhead but was instead shocked as what I saw. A triangular craft passed slowly overhead, maybe a hundred feet above us. It had three red flashing lights at each point and several smaller glowing orange lights in between. It was making the sound of a large jet airplane, however, if it had been a jet, it would have deafened us at the distance it passed. It also moved much too slowly to be any type of jet propelled craft. It was approximately 30 feet wide and had cubic features".

The craft stopped briefly over where the light was and then the craft disappeared suddenly with little to any noise, "We assume that it had collected some sort of probe that was spying on us. This incident frightened my girlfriend and she was no longer willing to investigate the flashing lights that persisted on several occasions.".

The witness proceeded to be woken at exactly 3:33am in the following mornings, this scared the witness with the fear that they might be 'taken' and the witness very quickly stopped talking about the encounters or anything relating to them, even to their girlfriend.

"Since then we have moved twice and have not encountered any more lights. However, we also quit smoking and quit looking. We don't got out late at night. I forced myself to stop looking at the clock when I wake up... I also now use sleep inducing drugs at night and I can't remember my dreams anymore, which suits me fine".

Some Stats

The blog has had a lot of work put into it with 571 posts and most are reports not that well known so not the same old same old.

On average posts get 4-5 views. a few have gone to 7, 8 and 9. Others have had no views what-so-ever.

9,891 views all time so from 2015. Makes you wonder where all the interest has gone.
I am not going to give up as I am too stupid and have no real life -its what 50 years hard labour on UFOs gets you.

Question is though: why are all of these people screeching about "UAP" and wanting more false UFO footage? Has one pof them ever thought that if these things are craft from somewhere other than Earth they have pilots/crew -and DO NOT say "we know its the Greys!" because that fakery died a death long ago!

I guess people just like bright, shiny things in the sky...even if they turn out to be a birthday balloon!😂😂

Many Shades Of Greys

Originally posted on the Anomalous Observational Phenomena blog Wednesday 9th November, 2015

Above: "We use "screen images" to put you in various scenarios that you cannot tell from reality -now breed!"   Star Trek "The Cage"/"Menagerie"

I spent several hours on the computer today.  Apparently the only real result from searching for "UFO Close Encounters of the Third Kind"/"Real life UFO Close Encounters of the Third Kind" is the 1977 Spielberg movie. (addenda 05 11 2022 -still true!)

And other than that you have that site which is either run by someone who seriously needs psychological help or really believes that spoons, bears, statues and far more are spotted in NASA Mars photos -finds them daily apparently.

Or...flying humanoids...or as we call them balloons (some human shaped) or refuse sacks tied together.

This is as good as it gets today.  'Abductees'/'experiencers' run UK UFO groups that seem to do little but get hyper over photos of aircraft lights, the return of X-Files on TV or anything but serious investigation and research and tell you matter-of-factly that they get "several dozen new abduction reports per month".  That or you have people who think UFOs are all just in the mind or...rubbish really.  And they run UFO groups.

Just what happened?

Nobody sees a landed UFO from which entities emerge, look around, re-enter craft which then takes off any more.  A "screen image" according to Dr Jacobs since every UFO sightings is an abduction (I guess that includes when they see a UFO that is the misidentification of objects, too?).

Why does the media see Ufology as a joke?  I think I just answered that.

I'd hate to think that real sightings are being ignored by 'investigators'  or witnesses are being scared off because they don't want people screaming out "YOU'VE BEEN ABDUCTED!!"

To prove how consistent abductees descriptions of The Greys (no longer the head honchos according to Jacobs) here are artists approved renditions....I guess it's hard to get a good look while being probed.

Some Thoughts On Correlations and Abductions

The one good thing about having a blog where no one responds or comments is that I can speculate to my heart's content...that is a LOT of speculation! But speculation based on reported facts.

It is interesting to note that the all covering outfits worn by entities in the Vilas Boas case are not unique. As I have shown in my books there are correlations that no one in Ufology appears to have noted because...well, Ufologists in general have no interest in Close Encounters of the Third Kind (and I am not going to include the High Priests of Abduction here since they ...well, all have been exposed for long enough).

For instance we have the 1993 Dandenongs (aka Cahill encounter) case from Australia; all black entities with large oval eyes.  It is very unlikely that Cahillo or the others involved knew of similar entities reported in 1977 in Devon. In fact, the Mr A case (there were two others with him at the time but did not want to come forward) was very briefly mentioned in Flying Saucer Review in a readers letter. FSR had no interest so the only person who investigated and made drawings, approved by the observer, was me. Those illustrations did not appear in print until over a decade after the Dandenongs case. So, picking a totally unique entity description for a hoax that matched one already known about...massive coincidence. Up until the Australian case I was aware of only one other account of an all-black entity and that was from France and searches led me to find others.

None of the cases were sensationally reported and the ones that did receive some print space in English were, by the 1980s, considered quite obscure.

When it comes to entity height we have to go by the observer/percipient's judgement in what are, honestly, a bizarre situation. There are good guides such as "The top of their heads reached my chin" but there seems to be this idea in Ufology that all of the entities must have a uniform height and if they don't then the case is suspect. How does that have any logic? Is every human on Earth the same standard height? We have people varying in height from 4ft 6 inches (1.40m) to 7 feet (2.13m).  Even individuals in an animal species can vary in size so the idea that "all aliens must be---" is silly in the extreme.

The all-encompassing coveralls/helmet and suggested breathing apparatus is described in the Vilas Boas case as well as the Moreland (NZ) encounter in 1959 as well as cases from the United States and Germany. Whether these are some type of extra vehicular activity (EVA) suits to enable breathing and movement in our environment or simple to prevent picking up Earth born diseases we have no ide. The Bibendum ("Michelin man") type suits we could call either but these are two clearly forms of entity clothing.

There is the ever popular diving-suit type outfit complete with head covering. In some cases it is reported that there seems to be some sort of face covering in others none.

Small (4 feet/1.21m to 5 ft 5 inches/1.67m) entities were commonly reported and, yes, their heads were described as oversized and bald with oversized eyes but these were not "Greys" and I can find no reports matching Greys prior to the Hopkins/Jacobs era. Finding You Tubers, bloggers and some Ufologists stating that the Hills and others "encountered what we know today as the Greys" shows a great ignorance of the subject matter: the Hills were not abducted by Greys.  Interesting to note that I once (2015) did a post in which I showed witness drawings or drawings approved by witnesses of Greys that all "showed the typical Grey". Except they did not and I counted up to 12 different kinds of "Greys" in these.

I have also said and written many times stating that, unless they have been investigated (I mean the observer has been spoken to not reading a news-clipping) it cannot be taken as evidence but only noted.  Some cases we know are hoaxes and misidentification but are still used by

Ufologists because they are just too good to let go (like Roswell, MJ-12 and Thomas Mantell's crash).  How many CE3K reports are we hearing of in 2022? Everything has to conform to the Hopkins/Jacobs formula but here is the thing; "regular" CE3K type cases continued throughout the 30 plus years of abduction deception.

I am not claiming that no one has ever been abducted by aliens nor can I claim with 100% confidence that they have. We are still waiting the case where someone actually manages to steal an alien artefact but it seems that aliens have labelled humans as kleptomaniacs so are on the look out.  There are many cases out there that are anecdotally very strong and that includes independent witnesses. However, there is a very strong belief on my part after 50 years that abductions are quite rare and if we exclude the whole "Grey Agenda" it can be clearly seen; they are not common.

There is another problem in that we have, on one side the "I was dragged aboard the UFO" group and on the other incidents in which people were invited to board a landed UFO but "declined" and...that was it. No abduction -the entities either re-entered the object which took off or spoke (sometimes in an unintelligible language) to the percipient then left.

What is going on?

I had toyed with the idea that in some abduction cases the actual abduction itself and what could be recalled under hypnosis were false memory but then you have to ask (at a time when this was far from common in the literature) why women describe the same type of procedures -despite sceptics and some Ufologists claiming that in 1975 "everyone" knew the details of the Hill case they did not and the same applies to the Vilas Boas case -it was not even known in Brasil until the late 1960s and pretty obscure in US Ufology.

We are left wondering whether (here accepting that the accounts are truthful) there is some type of "Ask but if you want to abduct" policy or whether more than one species is involved? The odd thing is that these entities carry out their work, removing pain when the subject shows it then, afterwards, they will show the percipient around the craft.  Almost a "We're not nasty by nature but need to do the work. Sorry -have a look around" attitude and, other than making sure no artefacts are taken, we then have to entities explain that they will make the percipient forget "for the best".   Considering that in many cases such an event is psychologically world-shattering is this the reason for the mental block? Or is it that and the knowledge that claiming to have met aliens gives many percipients a rough road in life -actually 'protecting' the percipient?

CE3K/Alien Entity reports can be mind bending at times and for some Ufologists the work can become a problem with them ending up believing they, too, are lifelong abductees based on very little.

The Vilas Boas Encounter -Some Thoughts

There is something that has always bothered me about the case of Antonio Vilas Boas and the account he gave.

Antônio Vilas-Boas was a 23-year old Brazilian farmer who was working at night to avoid the hot temperatures of the day. On the 16th October, 1957, he was ploughing fields near São Francisco de Sales when he saw what he described as a "red star" in the night sky  which approached his position, growing in size until it became recognizable as a roughly circular or egg-shaped aerial craft, with a red light at its front and a rotating cupola on top. This craft began descending and landed in the field, extending three "legs" as it did so.

At that point, Boas decided to run from the scene on his tractor, but when its lights and engine cut out after traveling only a short distance -he decided to continue on foot.  However, he was seized by a 5-foot-tall (150 cm) humanoid, who was wearing grey coveralls and a helmet. Its eyes were small and blue, and instead of speech it made noises like barks or yelps. Three similar beings then joined the first in subduing Boas, and they dragged him inside their craft

Once inside the craft, Boas said that he was stripped of his clothes and covered from head-to-toe with a strange gel. He was then led into a large semicircular room, through a doorway that had strange red symbols written over it. (Boas claimed that he was able to memorize these symbols and later reproduced them for investigators.) In this room the beings took samples of Boas' blood from his chin. After this he was then taken to a third room and left alone for around half an hour. During this time, some kind of gas was pumped into the room, which made Boas become violently ill.

Shortly after this, Boas claimed that he was joined in the room by another humanoid. This one, however, was female, very attractive, and naked. She was the same height as the other beings he had encountered, with a small, pointed chin and large, blue catlike eyes. The hair on her head was long and white (somewhat like platinum blonde) but her underarm and pubic hair were bright red.  Boas said he was strongly attracted to the woman, and the two had sexual intercourse. During this act, Boas noted that the female did not kiss him but instead nipped him on the chin.

When it was all over, the female smiled at Boas, rubbing her belly and gestured upwards.  Boas took this to mean that she was going to raise their child in space. The female seemed relieved that their "task" was over, and Boas himself said that he felt angered by the situation, because he felt as though he had been little more than "a good stallion" for the humanoids.

Boas said that he was then given back his clothing and taken on a tour of the ship by the humanoids. During this tour he said that he attempted to take a clock-like device as proof of his encounter, but was caught by the humanoids and prevented from doing so. He was then escorted off the ship and watched as it took off, glowing brightly. When Boas returned home, he discovered that four hours had passed.

He later became a lawyer, married and had four children. He stuck to the story of his alleged abduction for his entire life: he died on 17th January, 1991.

That is the account given and free of Flying Saucer Reviews racist image of Vilas Boas being an "ignorant peasant" and the female entity "his bit of overtime".

Vilas Boas was paralysed which is common in a number of close encounter cases. But here we see three entities shorter than he having to carry him to the object. There he is prepared and 'forced' to have sex with a female entity...twice. He even admits an attraction to her in his account. After this his clothes are returned and he is taken on a tour of the craft before being "released". Everything conforms to standard CE3Ks except the, uh, "forced sex" and Vilas Boas seems to actually not need forcing.

Did Vilas Boas remember everything about his time on board, after all four hours had passed. He did try to steal something to prove what had happened, as had others before him and with equal lack of success. This was 1957 and years before Dr Benjamin Simon would use hypnosis on the Hills and all investigators could go by was what the percipient recalled and there seems to be a lot missing here.

I actually wonder whether Vilas Boas had some Catholic guilt over the sex and enjoying it...with someone who was not quite human? The problem we have is that just carrying Vilas Boas to the craft, washing him down and saying "Here: have sex!" would not take four hours but let's say an hour which leaves us with 3 hours and the tour took an hour that still leaves 2 hours to be accounted for.

For decades the concentration has been on the titillating sex aspect and no one -I have checked as many sources as I can- asks "What happened that took four hours?" Vilas Boas stuck to his story and did not make money from it or seek any celebrity from it: he continued his studies and got on with his life as have so many over the decades. I wonder whether, after first being picked up, something I am unsure about and wonder whether Vilas Boas did not walk on board after his escape failed and the situation unfolded from there and it may well be that the encounter with the female entity was not a forced situation.

The big problem is that, as far as the investigators at the time knew, there had never been an incident like this before; the whole reason Vilas Boas contacted anyone was because he wanted to know what it all meant.  It seems that the account given is the one he recalled and never added to over the decades and if he did have any partial recall then he kept it to himself.

It is odd that when I mentioned this as a Time Loss case (no one used Missing Time back then) I was continually asked why? It was just accepted that all he recalled covered the four hour period -there were a number of people who suggested that Vilas Boas got the time wrong or simply shrugged it off -after all, he was an ignorant peasant!

Do not just think of this case as "sex on a flying saucer" but look at the details. So few actually do.
